The Parent

Dave lives with his wife, Louise and son, Joe in Crookes where they are active members of STC Church. He works for Sheffield City Council as a Community Services Manager, managing two teams – one working with city councillors to address local issues, the other working out of GP surgeries to offer early intervention to those at risk of developing longer term health or social problems.

Dave and Louise’s youngest son Ben died in 2011 from a brain tumour. This led Dave to write a book called ‘What Happens Now?’ The book charts the story of Ben’s sickness and how, after his death they began to come to terms with their grief within the context of faith. Dave blogs regularly about faith and culture at

Event: Friday 11 October – 7.30pm at the Newton Hall, Cowley Lane, Chapeltown, S35 1SX
